It is launched by [[NS]], and is always running in the background in 3DS-mode except when using certain applications, such as [[System Settings]]. The system will normally re-launch Home Menu when the Home Menu process crashes/terminates. When this re-launch occurs while Home Menu is active, Home Menu displays an error message which says to manually reboot the system.
